For me this only highlights how far we have fallen 15 years ago we were dreaming about CL glory, playing great football and had real quality players, always away ahead of Spurs, we were Londons best side, it looked like there was no stopping us.

How the tables have turned, we're now the 3rd best side in London, realise the CL is a pipedream and even if we qualified it would jut mean a humbling at the hands of a top side in the last 16, lack winners, have to put up with the most boring and repetitive football club in the world and face losing our 2 best players next summer for nothing.

This club gives nothing back to it's fans, it takes them for mugs, all we get is broken promises, sales talk and lies whilst watching the people in the club getting richer for doing next to nothing, worst thing is there seems to be no hope of anything changing anytime soon, we've got an owner who says he's in it for the long haul and only cares about money, a board that get pay rises for doing nothing and a manager who prioritises finances over on the pitch success.

Definitely the worst time being an Arsenal fan I've experienced, it really is embarrassing, an empty stadium may well be the only thing that can change this, we all know that will never happen though.

I don't think it's quite as simple as picking either our situation or theirs. They have a good manager, young exciting team, good philosophy and a feel good factor, and we have none of that. But we've won trophies. I'm not here to defend our board and manager because I hate them but 3 trophies in 4 seasons is at least something to show for. Until spurs have something tangible to show for it, it means nothing.

I'd pick their manager ahead of ours because I think with our squad he'd win trophies, and I'm talking more than FA cups. Probably a league. It's going to take something special to take spurs to the next level and break their spursy mentality , and by that I mean win trophies. I don't think Harry Kane on his own can do that. But if you put him in charge of our squad with the likes of Sanchez and Lacazette he'd do much much better than Wenger has. He'd also get much more out of ozil imo.

Right now I'd rather have a Spurs season ticket than an Arsenal one.
The danger for them is if they don't start winning trophies an paying their players market rate then people like Kane will have their heads turned.
They do seem to have finally got their act together though, upsettingly.

It's not all about winning to be honest, though obviously that is the goal. Excitement, hope, entertainment all come into it, seeing your team progress would be a nice feeling rather than the feeling that we're just happy where we are.

The club is so stale, noone wants to change anything they're happy letting it tick along.

And I think this is what fans of other clubs and pundits who are scathing of the fans conveniently forget

It's a mixture. Spurs fans are enjoying themselves right now but if it's another trophyless season then it will be a disappointment. After the glory years we often played great football but we didn't win trophies and that became frustrating.
Similarly I wouldn't want to go back to seasons like 92/93 where sure, we won both Cups but there were only a few exciting games in the whole season, the rest was crazily dull. As I said elsewhere the average home attendance was 24,000 for good reason and dad and me nearly gave up our season tickets it was so bad.

Hope is the big thing I reckon, right now there is none in terms of the biggest prizes. The FA Cups have mitigated somewhat but it hasn't felt like the big successes a club with these resources should be delivering.

It’s a trajectory towards success, if Spurs finish 2nd again despite having to play at Wembley and get to the business end of the Champions league I think the fans won’t worry too much about silverware. Of course as you pointed out earlier it might not be the same for their players.

Either way, Money has made the league more of a closed shop for sure. But where Spurs have spent their time wisely, we haven’t and in fact have been enclosed in feeling like we owe Wenger gratitude in perpetuity.

Boy oh boy. That one's coming back to haunt you. I can think of a thousand contexts that can be misapplied to that one, right off the top of my head. I'll sit down and do a proper list on the weekend.

    Warning. Fun ahead.

Agreed, problem for us is nothing changes and we can predict our season before it's started, there's no pleasure in that.
