Wenger is obsessed with value, and will never be willing to pay even a penny above any player's market valuation. This may seem reasonable, but if it results in us not getting another midfielder in before the close of the window, then we're in big trouble. Rosicky, Wilshere and Diaby have all suffered big injuries and it's unreasonable to rely on them. Frimpong is extremely inexperienced and raw, Coquelin the same. Please Arsene, don't let financial considerations stop you from ensuring our squad is well equipped for the coming season.
Another disappointing thing is how late we're leaving this. At the start a lot of fans were saying we should be making fuller use of our resources and complete our business early. Unfortunately, neither seems to be happening. We're probably going to end the summer with a negative net transfer expenditure, which doesn't suggest we're making full use of our financial resources at all.
