I think people are being unrealistic if they think we can go to Old Trafford and win these days. The club's ambitions are clear. They want to finish 4th and you don't need to win at OT to achieve that. We were playing for damage limitation from the first minute. We weren't actually playing to try to win, so why on earth expect it? Time for some people to wake up and smell the coffee.
I suppose my point was more about how Wenger's poor standing with the British media might affect refereeing decisions, not so much whether that reputation is justified or not.
Why give arsenal a 50/50 call when you know sky and espn (who are even worse) are going to lynch you for it.
It was a joke lighten up
What I will say though is I've lost complete respect for the guy with everything he's done since 2005. You can praise about get CL football and no money etc...but he's made some many mistakes, has been so rigid and at time insulting that you can't respect a guy like this.
Despite what goes on he still harps on about nonsense, I'm sorry but that's insulting people's intelligence, he's become arrogant and thinks he's untouchable, the sh*t about doing the best for the club would be ok if he practiced what he preached. He gets his cut and despite what he says in public his actions don't point to a man who cares about the fans.....hell he never seems to hear any of their concerns, he just counters with things like...2% away from domination, morally superior comments, injured players being like new signings etc etc stuff you'd be a fool to believe in basically.
Pretty much.
We sold them our captain and best player. You couldn't get a clearer admission that we don't see ourselves as credible rivals to them now.
I'm not going to wring my hands about a defeat away at Old Trafford. We're competing with teams like Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle now, not Chelsea or the Manchester clubs.
