    Caring isn’t a binary thing.
There are different degrees of caring, you can care about something without losing your shit at every setback. I’m frustrated we didn’t take advantage of the Merseyside Derby and put some real pressure on, it’s not going to spoil my day though.

And I’m sick of that diminutive sociopath destroying any joy I get from football
    Grow up.
He’s made us into genuine contenders for the first time in ages. Yes we’ve spent big but other sides have shown you can throw money around to little effect.
It’s it’s Liverpool of Chelsea who benefit from City’s drop off then I do think that would be a sackable offence, I’m not sure Arteta is the man to get us over the line. But the level of vitriol you have for him is insane and, honestly, a bit childish.

When you’ve spent almost £700 million quid, I’m inclined to be about as tolerant of failure as Ernst Stavro Blofeld

That I don’t like Arteta naturally tends to be more pronounced when he’s stood on a bear trap instead of finding the back of the net when we were handed, with the news of Rodri’s injury the best opportunity to win the league we’ve had in over 20 years. For me, I feel when considering this that my anger is if anything understated.

I don’t feel the inclination to debate how appreciative I should be of Arteta…because whatever I’ve said on here about him, pales in comparison to what I’ve said in private conversations with friends.

As for the accusation of being childish, I think this best sums up my response

Grow up! Says the consummate child. A plaything for authority, instructing the doubters that subservience is utopia. This is what modern sport is about, a mimic of what used to be. Now used by slaves to demonstrate their liberty.

Is it that much? It's certainly a lot, and I've made it clear I also don't think failure should be tolerated this year. City are having their worst season in years, having been genuine contenders the last two years for it to not be us who capitalises would be unforgiveable. As I said, it's a sacking offence in my view (I doubt the Arsenal board agree)

It's fine to not like him, but to talk about "hate" is ludicrous. I would reserve that adjective for very few people - people who are actually making the world a worse place. Arteta at worst isn't as good at his job as he should be, he's not actively trying to destroy things. Personally I do quite like him, I just don't think he's the man to get us over the line of winning a really major trophy.

That does not help my view of you being childish. Which is not a good trait for a man in his 40s, whatever 1970s Doctor Who might say.
Being child-like - retaining some wonder at the world - is a good thing.
Being childish - having tantrums when your favourite team don't win, not so much.

It’s not a good trait, and I’ve never argued that it is. But if you’re telling me you’ve never sulked, never launched into angry tirade which doesn’t match the gravity of the situation….then you’re only lying to yourself.

I haven’t come here to be the best version of myself. Quite the opposite. And actually frankly I think it’s quite healthy to rant and get your frustrations and resentments off your chest. I think the anger is justified, is it anywhere near as important as something going on in my personal life? No not at all….but I’m 41 now and I was 20 the last time we won the title. As I’m sure you know the older you get the more it feels like life passes you by, and when you squander opportunities that will not come around every day…..that’s infuriating.

And no I don’t like him at all. I liked Wenger because he had character, used to make pithy comments with a wry smile. And I think there was more of a natural humility to him.

Arteta seems devoid of personality, his arrogance is not matched by his ability…he comes across cold, awkward and a control freak. Wenger could be stubborn and assume he knew better as well, but I think that comes across less inappropriate when you have actually won something substantive to justify that attitude.

I liked Emery, I think he wasn’t the right coach for us and I think he wasn’t respected by the players (but frankly a lot of the players were arseholes).

I was quite pro Arteta at first, I thought tactically we looked better organised and he wasn’t taking shit off players like Ozil and Guendouzi. But then it became that he started freezing out players to throw his weight around. I also thought he liked shifting blame onto players when it was obvious that the way he was setting up teams was setting them up to fail.

Fair. I just very rarely do it about football any more. Just generally I find I've chilled out a fair bit as I've got older.
I guess if you can't vent on here though then where can you?
