Yeah he (Pep) comes across as a right attention seeker, he's a lot more likeable than Maureen for obvious reasons but he's kind of cut from the same cloth, it's all about "him".

Nah, I think he's far more professional than that. He kept on as normal under even worse pressure at Madrid. He's a guy that has been there and seen it all, so it all comes down to whether the players want to break their neck for a manager on his way out.

That much is pretty evident - he will have been aware for ages that Guardiola is coming, and he's been extremely professional and dignified throughout. As I said - it's his players who won't have much incentive to put in 110%. That's the problem with mercenaries who by and large play for themselves rather than the club. I know that covers 90% of footballers these days, but there are degrees - and the pay levels tend to be inversely proportional to feeling for the club they play for. I fully expect Citeh to continue to be inconsistent this season - which is why we absolutely have to take advantage.

Tbf, I was writing my post while your one appeared. Just coincidence it seem to be in response to your post when it was AFC's I was replying to.

Players like Sterling and Toure I can see downing tools (Toure has done for the past couple of seasons really) but I can't see many others in that starting eleven that stand out as big time charlies, willing to throw in the towel. I expect City to be inconsistent too - but for the different reasons I explained last week.
