Chelsea don't want him. I can't see him going abroad, because he's really thick.

Arsenal are a massive club with an illustrious history. We're not Doncaster Rovers ffs.

The first paragraph is true but if we did sign him and Higuan wouldn't that show a change in policy and show we are more serious about trying to challenge? Big if of course but we did finish 4th, we're in the CL, we're still a bit side.

Plus I think he'd enjoy being the leader of our growing GHEL contingent.

FWIW I don't think we're really in for Rooney. Higuain would be enough up front.

Yeah, maybe. There's loads of reason he, or any player really, would want to join Arsenal.

I see where you are coming from, but the talk from the Club about who we can afford is meaningless. We are not going to attract players unless we spend stupid amounts because of the way we have allowed all our assets to be stripped.

They can say whatever they like, but that does nothing to increase any hope I have that things will change. Gazidis is all talk and has exhausted any benefit of doubt that may have existed in years past.

We need to find 250,000 reasons every week if we want him here, which I assume we don't (and won't). Because he's such a massive **** and because we're very tight ****s.

Chelsea have been linked to him just as much as us. I read in the Indy or maybe the Guardian...can't remember which one that if he does leave Man U, Chelsea are his first choice.

Oh he's thick, but I don't think Rooney would be able to tell the difference between London or Paris. All Cities south of Liverpool are foreign to scousers.

Sure we're a massive club with illustrious history but right now our reputation is low amongst the established footballers, we are not an attractive option.

I never said we are Doncaster Rovers, we're a top 4 side that is probably around 10-16 in terms of ranking in CL. Is that really an attractive enough option for someone like Rooney? I doubt it.

Depends if he thinks that with the addition of him and a couple of other quality players he thinks we could be right up there.
    I think we could.
Whether we'll make the right signings...well, we never have before so probably not but the board have been more bullish about money this year so there's no hiding place if we don't.
