Unbelievable that we've resorted to picking up washed up crocks off our rivals. They must be laughing their heads off at us paying the wages of a player who is surplus to requirements.

All kidding aside, this is the nuts n bolts for me.
I think we can get away without a "DM" as long as we stay diciplined (which we have looked thus far).
What we do need, is that sparkle up top. The magic player who turns a draw into a win. Fuck knows who that is (RVP cheeky bid??), but that's what we should be looking at.

Unsubstantiated rumours on Twitter this afternoon have linked Arsenal with a bid for Marouane Fellaini.
Arsenal fans are lapping it up, despite the rumour being that they have made a tentative offer of £19m plus Aaron Ramsey in exchange for the Belgian midfield monster.
Several other Arsenal fans have claimed that Fellaini wants to leave Goodison Park, although that is far from the impression Fellaini gives off at Everton.

Yes, £30mill as always. £30mill every year. The money goes on the balance sheet to keep the share price rising so Stan can fuck Alisher hard when he cashes out. In many ways you could say Stan is a heroic figure because Ali is a bit of a thieving, murdering shitbag and deserves it hard up the shitter. Football can't always be about football. There can be no more comings and goings within the Bundesliga, so Ryan Babbel's helicopter must find a landing place abroad - before the fuel's running low. The former Liverpool midfielder is being linked with a return to Ajax; Dutch media are expecting him to sign a one-year-deal following a successful medical this evening.
"There's still no confirmation of Ashkan Dejagah's expected move to Fulham and Chelsea's improved offer for Andre Schürrle (Bayer Leverkusen) has either come in a few millions too low or a few weeks too late. Or both."

Italian football expert James Horncastle: "The gong has sounded in Italy, as the transfer window here comes to a close. Clubs can no longer buy players but they are still able to sell to those based in countries, such as England, where the deadline has not yet passed, so Southampton fans fear not, there is still time to sign Gaston Ramirez from Bologna. it's an admission that we aren't good enough no matter what shite comes out his mouth. he sold song and said we would add a defensive midfielder. he went as far as personally calling sahin to ensure we get him, only to back out last minute. that tells me he knows we are short of quality midfielders. he also said we are looking at defenders which tells me he knows we are defensively weak. we'll probably loan essien last minute to numb the pain but it's not good enough. we are +10m this transfer window and i refuse to believe the board would not sanction a transfer from our longest serving, most successful manager. it's his choice to stick with what we have.

It's our own faults really.....even though our heads tell us nothing is going to happen we let ourselves believe that something might (and of course its not helped by the club either providing a wall of silence or the great communicator telling us "if we find someone special we will try to do it"), I couldn't give a flying monkeys if Essien joins us or not......for me a defensive midfielder is a luxury player....we are short up front....especially with that Danish Halfwit and Park having gone (not to say they would be helpful goals wise, but at least we could delude ourselves that we have options in attack)

Never said anyone makes him do it. You think he would have decided he would sign no one and Gazidas and anyone would have opposed this. their all involved in this. Ok thought you were implying that it was the board's fault and not his, when in fact it's both of their faults. I'm sure he wanted a stronger squad than the one he currently has but the problem is he created the issue by signing up rubbish like Niklas Bendtner to a five year contract where he earns 52k a week and it's the boards fault for giving him a free hand to do this.

Here's Rafael van der Vaart speaking after sealing his move from Tottenham back to former club Hamburg, where he played between 2005 and 2008: "It feels a bit like I am coming back home," he said. "Everybody knows that I still have a strong bond with Hamburg and it is a compliment when a club wants you every year. This season was the right time.
"Of course I am no superman, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo. But I do think that I can help the team. I have always followed Hamburg's progress and I think that the team is good. There are many talented players, but self-confidence is lacking.

Oh i agree Wenger is a big part to blame in this. His Loyalty in the club and Belief in his players are his biggest flaws and things that have let him down the most.
He needed to be more like Jose a bit more ruthless (and i'm not Jose is biggest fan). Also Wenger seems more interesting in creating then winning. imo Wenger leaving will acutally do him good, i think he needs a new challenge and if he went to a juve say might be the right team for him to get that winning hunger back.
Arsene and Arsenal used to be good but not anymore.

alking of Liverpool, and Clint Dempsey, here's BBC Sport's Ben Smith... and this might (will) interest Tottenham fans too.
Liverpool and Fulham are in talks to thrash out a last-ditch deal for Dempsey. The Anfield club made a straight cash offer for the 29-year-old United States forward on Friday afternoon.
It came in below Fulham's valuation and was rejected but talks continue to reach a compromise closer to the £7m valuation.
The situation could yet be complicated by late interest from Spurs. Having already beaten Liverpool to the signature of Gylfi Sigurdsson this summer, Spurs have now expressed an interest in Dempsey although no bid has been made.

The thing is, IF everyone is fit then our first team is quite decent tbh (Chesney, Sagna, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Gibbs, Wilshere, Arteta, Cazorla, Walcott, Giroud/Podolski, Oxlade). However, it's unlikely Wilshere will be in any shape to play regularly until after the new year at the very earliest, while Sagna will take time as well. Moreover, we're definitely going to have injuries throughout the season, and then that's when the problems start. Our squad is nowhere near strong enough at the moment, and still having to rely on Chamakh, Squillaci, Djourou, Ramsey if we suffer injuries/suspensions doesn't fill me with much confidence.

French football expert Matt Spiro reports (https://twitter.com/mattspiro) "Even though it was widely expected, Hugo Lloris' imminent switch to Tottenham is not going down well in France. Several Lyon players have expressed their disappointment at the goalkeeper's decision to leave the Stade de Gerland after four seasons, with defender Dejan Lovren offering a short, solemn tweet that simply read, 'I am sad'. Playmaker Clement Grenier echoed that sentiment, saying: 'We're certainly going to miss him. He's a good man and one of the best goalkeepers in the world. For him, Tottenham may be a stepping stone to one of Europe's biggest clubs.'
"Many are surprised that the France captain, aged 25, is being allowed to leave OL for a fee of around £9m plus performance-related bonuses. For ex-France international Jean-Michel Larque, Lloris earns Lyon "five or six extra points every season. Now Tottenham will get those extra points." Lloris began his medical at Spurs lodge at around 17:00 and is expected to sign a contract with the North London club shortly."

this falcao guy is beast, he makes chelsea defence looks shite.
Wenger hasn't got the brains to consider that when you buy players just to make up for players sales (including the sale of our best player) you're not really improving the squad. That's why he comes out with sh*t like this.
Nothing convinces this guy we're not up to the job, is there a more stubborn, deluded individual in football today? I can't think of one.

Wenger knows we won't win the league so he is not in a rush to buy why would he be. He knows his sqaud is ok for top 4 and lets be real we all knew that is the target.
Him not buying won't be the worst thing its the fact he will continue to play this pass pass crap rather then play to strenghs of the sqaud he has.
time to change the way we play to suit the players we have. we have pace time to use that pace rather then play a system that is failed time and time again.

The France midfielder started just 15 league matches for the Spanish champions last season and it's understood that Jose Mourinho may be ready to cash in on the 27-year-old former Chelsea, Arsenal and Portsmouth player, who has just one year left on his contract."

This is just the transfer stuff. Wait until the season really kicks in and you see his subs and tactical decisions. That's the sort of stuff that convinces me he's not up to the job. With transfers, you can make excuses but on the playing side...it's all him. Even if we get the players, I don't even trust him to play them in a way that gets the best out of all of their abilities.
