Pathetic the way we're not in for anyone. Wenger genuinely feels we have the answer in that crock Diaby. Who exactly is going to be our ball winner - oh yeh Rosicky lol.
No its Frimpong who he feels can cover and id say Jack too. We need a striker more then a midfilder andways.

Cleverly done this year. Get some signings in early, make it look like things have changed, then sell the key players out from under the team. More profits, another con job, raise the prices again maybe, get more corporate types in and fuck the fans out of it. Ideally go for an empty stadium but with every ticket sold. Will be pretty cheap maintaining an empty stadium. More lovely profits. You can't say these boys don't know how to turn a trick.

Arshavin will not leave "Arsenal" during the summer transfer window
Russian forward Andrei Arshavin during the summer transfer window London "Arsenal" will not leave. Told he 31-year-old in an interview with "Sport-Express" when he was asked about whether he remains in the "Arsenal". "Yes" - Arshavin answer was succinct.
Arshavin moved to the "Arsenal" in 2009 from St. Petersburg "Zenith". Sezon-2011/12 he finished on loan is the "Zenith," which played ten matches and scored three goals in the Russian Premier League.

Our team is comparatively weak all over the pitch. A couple of key injuries, which is inevitable, put us in the deep shit. Dempsey was an absolute no-brainer and we could have still made a transfer window profit (which is of course the inviolable priority). Tottenham's offer is still below Porto's valuation, it says, and the midfielder is still not happy with the personal terms on offer. I'd have Rodgers' babies if he pulled that one out of the hat.
I'm not particularly cut up about Carroll going per se (as I say his 4 or so goals weren't exactly critical) but we've let a lot of forwards go this window and not really replaced them, we probably have weakened an already pretty poor forward line.
Playing some good football is nice but there was an open goal to get someone who desperately wanted to come and could score a decent number of goals, and we hit the post.

In terms of strikers, Borini, Suarez, Morgan, Yesil (some German we bought from Leverkusen yesterday... meant to be quite good but still) and that's it. Borini will probably play left of Suarez most games, you're right. Aissaidi is a complete unknown. Then we're into Downing territory.....

fans aren't stupid. this summer they will have seen exactly what has happened and they will finally turn against management. selling rvp to our bitter rivals will have tipped many over the edge and rightly so. additionally, he sanctioned the departure of song which is fine but not replacing is ludicrious. i refuse to believe the board did not sanction players for wenger, who is our longest and most successful manager ever. we have made another profit yet again and our team is an arteta injury away from crumbling. on top of that, chamakh is still here as our second choice striker. they've made a bed and now they must lie in it. they'll feel the full force of fans displeasure this season as we'll probably end up winning nothing and we'll have to scrape for top 4 again. that's not good enough and doesn't wash with fans anymore. don't kid yourselves, this time it's down to wenger.

£440m spent this summer. f disgusting. another new season, another new bunch of useless over paid ****s brought into the division to bleed it dry. sick to death of sky's celebrity column presentation of it all.
how can anyone support their club anymore when half the teams change every season.
Agree with all of that. Fans are getting raped by the banks, the government, the power companies, rail companies, and now their lifelong footie team is bleeding them dry too. Got to stop paying all these ****s, let them all fail and collapse in their own shit.

French football expert Matt Spiro reports: (https://twitter.com/mattspiro) "With Stephane Mbia confirmed as a QPR player, and Hugo Lloris now at Tottenham, Ligue 1 has lost two very fine players tonight. It could have been worse for French fans, however. Lyon duo Bafetimbi Gomis and Michel Bastos now look as though they will stay put, as does Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila and Marseille striker Loic Remy.
"And of course, the French league has inherited the talents of a certain Joseph Barton. One of the Premier League's most controversial and colourful figures moving to France's most passionate and volatile footballing city...Barton and OM could well be an explosive combination!"

Replacing Song would have been enough to say it was a break even transfer window. The squad would have been slightly weaker considering it was unlikely RvP could carry the team for two seasons running. But to not even do that much. That's greed on a new level. Can't give one fucking inch to the fans, not a fucking inch.

i have, probably more out of habit but the fun isn't there anymore. the game starts, then ends. move on. i unfortunately got my teenage son hooked on this shit so it would wrench him to pull the plug now, so in his naivety i'll let him enjoy all the big moves etc but i'll teach him the bigger picture over time.

True but he cited a lack of ambitious that has been 100% vindicated by this transfer window: one step forward, two steps back - but all fine as long as the money keeps rolling in. Why would any world class player want to come here whilst that's the club's vision.
I still firmly believe this is wenger not the board - he lost it after abramovich, and seems determined to prove you can win a trophy without investing a penny. Fortunately for him, he's found a board happy to go along with the vision because it pays off the debt and massively increases the sell-on value of their shares. Everyone's a winner, non?

Agree we need both gone, but I don't for one second believe that if wenger asked for cash he'd be refused it.
Truth is we haven't got someone like David dein (or who for that matter daniel levy) who will go out there and make transfers happen, almost forcing wenger to spend. Its the board that are yes men to wenger not the other way round. They are very happy to sit back, let wenger persist with his cod-messianic crusade, and get stinking fucking rich off the proceeds.
Clearly, both are at fault but wenger more than the board as he could force the issue with a simple ultimatum: give me the cash to compete or I walk. He's never done it, and that for me leaves me to think he's never been denied it.
Of course, no one knows for sure but that's my take. Either way it's the club and the fans that suffer.

European football expert Andy Brassell: "So, it seems to have ended up as a yes and a no from Portugal to the Premier League today. The signing of Javi Garcia is a coup for Roberto Mancini, and not nearly as expensive as it could have been at an initial £16m. With all due respect to Nigel de Jong, Garcia is a huge upgrade. Brought through the Real Madrid academy he is of good stock, but has improved his game tenfold since arriving in Lisbon. The 25-year-old is strong, good in the air, a good passer and has the adaptability to play at centre-back too. Perhaps the best aspect for City is that his power will allow Yaya Toure to be used further forward more often.
"On the other hand, missing out on Moutinho will be a source of huge disappointment to Andre Villas-Boas. The midfielder isn't just a great player, but a player who could help unfold AVB's vision on the pitch - and he believes in the coach just as much as Villas-Boas believes in him. Even for a gnarled businessman like Daniel Levy it is, however, never a good idea to be stuck bartering with Porto on the final day of the window. Their president Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa has been there, got the T-shirt and sold it on at a handsome profit."

Well Dempsey is a direct replacement for VDV. Only he'll track back less than VDV and play completely as a second striker. With that, of course, he'll get his customary 1-in-3 record. How many will the spuds let in is the key. I've never been impressed by Lloris. At all.

I can see some potential in De Gea because he seems to pull off some incredible saves at times. From the (admittedly limited) sightings of Lloris, he's a bit of a clown.
But Dempsey is definitely a good, safe bet for a decent goalscorer. I'm just thinking keeping the opposition out might be the spuds problem. It seemed to be something AVB struggled heavily with last year.

I don't think you can track back less than VDV. Dempsey is a decent grafter.
Lloris indeed has many howlers in him. An excellent shot-stopper like so many, but deficient in other departments. Perlman at 49 would still be a safer option. Lyon have got one over them. Losing Kaboul means their defence has not improved at all, so as you say, they're still suspect there.
They've bought some decent players, but it's just levelling out if you look at how many have left.

Pretty much.

Too right and it's about time people woke up because this is déjà vu. It pisses me off. People here are just as bad and need to wake up. Applauding the sales of key players, talk of greed and placing all the blame on players, talking shit about what a player is worth to the club while we're happy to pay fuckers like Chamakh and Squallaci to sit on the bench and do fuck all. It pisses me off. People fall for the okey doke every year. The great balancing act is now complete and the club have shown their ass. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended his transfer policy by claiming that spending money "is not a quality".
The Gunners sold first-team regulars Robin van Persie and Alex Song to Manchester United and Barcelona respectively this summer, but reinforced their squad by signing Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud.
Wenger has often been criticised for his reluctance to make big-money signings, but the Frenchman insists that splashing cash in the transfer market is not necessarily a sign of strength.
"We have bought already - Lukas Podolski, Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud," he said in The Daily Star.
"But when you listen to people, you always have to buy more.
"Spending in itself is not a quality. Buying better players than we have - that is a quality.
"We do spend when we find the right players. You have to give the players who have come in a bit of time.
"Thierry Henry arrived and didn't play before November, Robert Pires wasn't an automatic starter at first.
"What is important is that we believe in the players we have and get our long-term injuries back, like Jack Wilshere."
Arsenal are away at Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.

Pretty much we struggle to give quality the wages they want but find it no problem giving average players a better wage then they deserve. Also we seem to have no problem tying them to long contracts but top quality we do.

Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has admitted he is looking to leave the club next summer.
The 24-year-old, who moved to Goodison Park from Belgian side Standard Liege in September 2008, has scored twice in three Premier League appearances for David Moyes' side this season.
Fellaini signed a new five-year contract with Everton in November 2011 but the Belgium international insists this is likely to be his last season under Moyes.
"I begin now to my fifth season at Everton," Fellaini told Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. "This will be one of my last. I've seen everything. In January or at the end of the season I would look for another club or league."
Earlier this week, Everton's proposed loan move for Club Brugge midfielder Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe collapsed after Fifa refused to ratify the transfer.
"It's a pity that Vadis did not come to Everton," Fellaini said. "It may come later on."

ARSENAL want to prise Didier Drogba away from Shanghai Shenhua.
The Gunners are desperate to find a proven scorer to replace Robin van Persie.
And they have made enquiries with the Chinese club to see if there is a way of bringing the striker, 34, back to London.
The Gunners are aware of internal upheaval at Shanghai where Drogba and ex-Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka have been caught up in a boardroom power struggle.
Drogba — believed to be on £200,000 a week — had been linked with a shock switch to Liverpool.
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho, who took the hitman to Stamford Bridge in 2004, also kept an eye on the Ivorian during the summer transfer window.
