Seems like Soldado is close to joining Spurs as well.

:rose:

How would Arsenal fans generally react a bad summer window? Would it be an apathetic drip of lower attendances, replaced by more corporate schmucks eating their swan salad focaccia, or would there demonstrations and marches and all that business?

I'll be so angry I'll continue to not go.

They won't that's why the club don't give a sh*t, a few boos won't hurt the bank balance.

Boos and a few complaints fall on deaf ears, they just think the fans are unreasonable.

A march with 3 people is hardly going to achieve anything

On a serious note, it's clear they don't care about that sh*t and why would they, if the stadium is full a march is hardly going to worry them. They're money men that are interested in profits, if the profits don't suffer everyone's is happy, it's become pretty clear.

I'm resigned the fact nothing will change, at least not until Wenger finally moves on (no hope anytime soon with his new contract looming).

Withholding money is the best way. You just have to hope more people do the same. Protests are messy because we wouldn't be able to agree on what we're marching for or when and where to march.

This board has the club over a barrel. Wenger constantly getting 4th fucks us up. How are you going to stage a sustained protest with any credibility when the guy keeps getting CL football? By that measure Everton, the spuds, Liverpool should all be marching every week. Put it in the context of the run-in last season. What if the team was winning games and securing 4th but all the fans were out on the street with banners? It would have looked silly. And the same applies this season, we'll probably have enough to do 4th and they'll probably bring in some mediocre gap fillers before the window closes just to ensure we have a bit of cover to scrape through. There may be a few loud voices initially but nobody will carry it through the season and put any real pressure on the board. You can forget about protests. They won't happen.

i can see home attendances dropping slightly, but away games will still sell out i reckon. The thing is, im fucked off at teh club but still paid for a ticket today, people will still go to games. At the end of the day we all love the club and wnat to support it so that for reason i cant see people not going to games. But i reckon there will be a lot more chanting about the board/wenger and a lot more aggresion at bad results, booing, chants etc to get the message accross.

there isnt much we can do really. Apart from a mass boycott of games, which isnt going to happen People like me who cant go often will jump at tickets that dont sell so tickets will always sell. Guess its going to have to be marches, and then boycotting the shops, only drink in pubs not at the club. not much we can do really

I bought a ticket today - but it was for Fakeyank. I'm kind of hoping he gets me barred from the stadium.

some players might not give their all in each game but the fans notice and given the level of anger right now, any player not seen pulling their weight will just make it worse and the crowd will get on their backs imo

worst player to put on an arsenal shirt in the premier league.......the only good thing about having him on the pitch is that the back four concentrates more and will not play too high a line because they know that any second that welsh spastic could put them in difficulty.

That's really unfair. Blame the board and Wenfer for not getting someone better but Don't insult a player that does work hard and gives his all on the pitch. I'd rather see 11 ramseys on the pitch than 11 walcotts anyway, probably because I Don't rate the latter at all

I'm in the same boat as you but I won't be going near the Emirates until they sort their shit out. That's petrol money, rent money, gas and electric money I'm pissing away on these chumps. Sky Sports is off the Sky package as well and I'm not buying the new away kit. Emirates Cup for the summer sounds good but I'd much rather save for a summer holiday! I'm not parting with anymore cash for this regime. Forget the protesting, this is just being cost effective.

I still won't forget the way Wenger backed the season ticket price hike and said it was the only way we'd remain competitive. It's bloody cheeky! How about spending the money more wisely instead of blowing wages on Danish ****s that are so content with their wages they won't leave! Or that useless Spanish waiter that was happy to pick up a check from the bench! It's an insult to support that shit! Pisses me off just thinking about it. Fuck the lot of them. i honestly think there is a blindness towards how BAD Ramsey is and how inept he is as a player

The media in this country have given more stick to players like Wojciech Szczesny and Gervinho but gave Ramsey a pass presumably because he's british.

But honestly i go on the message boards of other teams when we play them, and he's the one that they can all see makes us worse, i believe he brings down the play of other players around him.

Granted Arteta is not a great player and certainly not a player who should be in the starting XI of a team that wants to finish top four let alone win the title, but he is played out of position for one and secondly if you have someone who literally can't do anything as your midfield partner i think it would stifle your performances.

He cannot run, he cannot tackle, he is forever overcooking passes, nearly every time Arsenal break and he gets the ball the move breaks down....his shots on goal are laughable and he's forever putting the defence under pressure by giving away possession or conceeding needless free kicks.

Gervinho gets a lot of stick and rightly so, but at least he can run....Ramsey can't run and his passing/decision making is woeful so it's two for two. And Gervinho at least showed what he was capable of...in a few games this season (like the Swansea, Reading and West Brom games where he stole the show)

The merciful thing about him though and a lot of our other poor performers is that they weren't giving that much game time especially not compared to Ramsey. Against Newcastle in the final fifteen minutes all the pressure from the home side gave from Ramsey giving the ball away under no pressure (granted he wasn't the only one doing it, but he was the serial offender).
No i don't think he's lazy or doesn't give 100% but that for me makes us playing him that more questionable....against Man United he was so terrible it was untrue....and really his performances don't for me indicate a player that should be playing top flight football let alone for us.

I'm not saying that he's talented enough to be playing for us. But hostility towards him is very uncalled for as all he seems to be doing is trying his best for our cause. If he's an arrogant prick That's a whole different story but direct your hostility to the people who deserve it.

I lost interest in Arsenal for the past 3-4 years. previously I would sit and watch every live game at home on SS or Espn, paid a fortune to Sky in doing so, but it was cheaper than going to a game and trying to tout a ticket. I used to get so in to the games, shouting and swearing, even shed a few tears when we lost the Champs lge final. But now I only check BBC sport on my smart phone on a saturday and spend time with friends and family. I havent purchased a shirt in about 5 years due to cost. And I hardly ever wear it as I always end up walking past a Man U or Chelsea fan and you can hear them chatting and laughing, and I aint gonna get stabbed to protect the name of Arsenal, fcuk that shit. Anyway my point is the love for my club is slowly dwindling and at first it was hard but now I really could not give a toss if we won the league and champs league, seriously. We have been lied to and misled for so many years while the manager and the board secure riches they could never have imagined. You see some of you dont know this, but our loyal manager gets around 15% from player sales, oh dont get me wrong, I know it's a common thing but when your getting paid over £7 Million a year it's a real cause for concern. AW, Gazidis and Kroenke have killed everything that was good about this club. They are all laughing at our supporters from all over the globe and fooling us with this Suarez bid and Higuain story. It was obvious from the start, as soon as that baffoon Gazidis told the whole world we are rich and can pay gazillions, that's not Arsenals style and has never been. We have always kept a stiff upper lip and done our business on the quiet. As soon as that fcukin cretin came out with that dribble, I knew it was going to be another quite summer of transfer activity. It really used to hurt me seeing us fight for 4th place, but I guess when your manager comes out in public and promotes a 4th place instead of rubbishing as 4th rate, and saying that this club should be comepeting with man U and city for the league, we will forever be a club run by businessmen who are draining the life and heart from the club, goodbye and goodnight.

You don't seriously believe he is going to get better do you?

It's also Ramsey's decision to take a pay packet from the club each week despite the fact he must know deep down he is an atrocious footballer, and if he doesn't he is no better than Niklas Bendtner.

My genuine honest feelings are that Aaron Ramsey has already suffered enough as a footballer from the tackle he's taken from Shawcross, he was never going to brilliant but the injury obviously has sapped his confidence as to make him a total incompitent wreck.. Anyway, does anyone have the latest on how hard the cocksucking rats are going to clamp down on streams? I'll settle for stealing what used to be my game off the Internet provided there are some streams to liberate. Which means I can dump Sky. Not so much of a protest as the fact Sky is bloody expensive, isn't it? A few games on BT will do for me. Talking of BT, has it started now? I'm off to check.

Not so much of a protest as the fact Sky is bloody expensive, isn't it? A few games on BT will do for me. Talking of BT, has it started now? I'm off to check.
wasn't there already fighting amongst the fans in the ground last season? We might see more of that this season

also going back to the £40,000,001 bid, i think it's clear that Gazidis/Richard Law made the bid with the naive thinking that any amount over 40million would immediately trigger the clause in Suarez's contract so that Liverpool would have to accept. This enforces my point that Gazidis far from being the manipulative business genius for his swinish masters is actually a total incompetent and was probably given some kind of daft assurance from Suarez's agent about this clause and went away with the bid without thinking that were it untrue that the club would make themselves look bloody silly....and it's why Liverpool were considering having the Premier League investigate us for knowing anything about the clause to begin with.

What's the cost over in the UK of SS? Great day here in NZ today. Sky Sports here (which costs approx NZ$50 or 25 pound per month) lost the EPL rights 6 weeks ago when outbid by some internet crowd. Well today Sky announced they had purchased rights to show all Arsenal, Man City and Spurs games albeit with 12 hour delays (given most games are on live at 2am NZ time this isn't as bad as it sounds). So now i don't have to pay up to join the internet crowd as well :) My days of watching Aaron Ramsay and Theo can continue :jumpnana:

I'm not sure how involved Wenger is in our bits. I thought after the Graham debacle the manager no longer does the transfers although I'm sure he has some input. I've no idea how it all works (or doesn't work) behind the scenes.

When Wenger comes out and says we're good enough to challenge for the title why don't they point out to him it's hardly realistic when his team crashed out of all competitions early last season and were a long way away in the title hunt. Why don't they point out that in 8 years of him saying this his team haven't generally been that close.

He comes out with these words but noone seems to question this rather illogical conclusion he comes to, they just accept it, I'd really like some of these reporters to question him a bit further on these matters and point out to him that despite what he says as every season passes we seem to be getting further and further away.

It's frustrating that after all this time noone asks the questions that need to be asked.

FC Twente have failed in an attempt to land Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal after failing to match the striker's salary demands.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is looking to offload the Danish flop this summer and a string of European clubs have shown their interest.
A mooted switch to Eintracht Frankfurt fell through, while he is believed to be in talks with Malaga.
Eredivisie side FC Twente were keen on him too, but they have pulled out of the race to sign him after he demanded wages in excess of £1.7m a season.
The 25-year-old has spent the last two seasons on loan - at Sunderland and Juventus respectively - but netted just eight league goals during this period.

I don't get the maths, Spurs spend around £50 Mill on transfer fees alone, not including the 3 players wages for the next 4 years, they have a smaller stadium, less sponsor money, less corporate facilities and they are building a new stadium? Fair play to Levy and the owner, they have sent a message of intent, and they haven't even sold bale to finance these deals. they have got steel balls. Unlike our tight arse fcuking wanker of a manager and and even pair of headless chickens in the boardroom. We have never ever purchased a player for over £15 mill yet our noisy neighbors have just put us to shame. Yes I am jealous, it feels like I have been buying Mondeo's every year and i know I earn more money then my neighbor, yet he has the audacity to go for it and buy a Mercedes!! I am green with envy and mad as fcuk.

We get the following:

Arsenal in for Higuain,
Arsenal to smash their transfer fee
We were never in for him, we tried to do a cheap and tacky style of unsettleing the player, therefore forcing the hand, at the time we knew the club as being managerless to accept our silly offer of £20 Mill, then he fcuks off to Napoli for £30 plus mill

Then these twas who run the club go in with stupid bid of 40 mill plus a quid to release the contract??? Are these people for real, do they think that Liverpool will sell the best striker in the league for a few quid??? If Cavani and Falcoa went for around 50 mill each, how do you think a club competing for the same glory as 4th place is going to give you the upper hand by giving away their best players, so fucking stupid.

Spurs have had very good sponsorship deals for several years, we've only just caught them up on that from.

The main thing though is their wage bill is about £30m less than ours so that difference can be spent on signing players

That's about right. The club is pulling every trick in the book to milk the fans for the duration of Kroenke's tenure. After that it's somebody else's problem. I'm betting Wenger will move on at exactly the same time Kroenke sells up. It's a sting, not at all uncommon in business. You promise the customer everything, get their money, do a runner and leave the mess to the next eager piggy. It's not incompetence though, when you plan for an an outcome and then hit that outcome bang on it's the very opposite of incompetence.

Thierry Henry was sold for £16m a year after a then world record bid of around £50m had been rejected. Patrick Vieira left for shy of £14m, when the previous summer the club had turned down almost twice that. And most recently Cesc Fabregas' sale for £36m may have represented a stunning profit, but Barcelona know the hammer went down at below the market value.

Can't even get the sales right. Other clubs know we're a push over and eventually sell on the cheap. Liverpool won't budge, Madrid didn't, neither did Fiorentina!

Hangout with Arsène Wenger and Emirates

In the build up to the launch of digital membership and the Emirates Cup, Emirates is hosting a Google+ Hangout with the boss! Arsène Wenger will be fielding questions from fans on Emirates' Google+ page from 2.30pm (UK time) on Thursday. So remember to visit Emirates' Google+ page on Thursday to watch the hangout.

I have the page for that up and looking at the questions coming through, I do sense a transfer based theme.

Yeah to be honest I consider the Vieira, Cesc, Henry and RVP all cut price deals, we never got the money we should have got due to allowing contracts to run down amongst other things.

How you can get a 50 million bid one year and then the following year decide to cash in for 16 million, I'll never know!
